LEATHER / CARE

FLYNN carefully selects its leathers based on their texture, durability and beauty. Any variations in the leather such as colour or markings are not imperfections, but typical signs of a natural product and should be viewed as enhancing the individuality and luxuriousness of each accessory.

Please treat with care to extend the life of your accessory. Please avoid overexposure to sunlight, heat and rain, as these elements are known to affect the condition of your accessory. Please also avoid contact with cosmetics, oil-based substances and dyes (including denim). To prevent unnecessary damage, please avoid contact with sharp or rough surfaces during wear.

Should your accessory become wet, wipe gently with a dry soft cloth. To remove surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft cloth (and mild leather cream if required), in a circular motion. For any surface stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

Protective creams, waterproofing and moisturising agents should only be applied by professionals. Should you wish to use these, please contact your local leather care professional.

We recommend storing your accessory in the dust cover bag provided when it’s not in use.

EMBOSSED LEATHER / CARE

Embossed leather is leather that has been stamped using heat and high pressure to create a pattern or design in the hide.

Please treat with care to extend the life of your accessory. Please avoid overexposure to sunlight, heat and rain, as these elements are known to affect the condition of your accessory. To prevent unnecessary damage, please avoid contact with sharp or rough surfaces during wear. Please also avoid contact with cosmetics, oil-based substances and dyes (including denim).

METALLIC LEATHER / CARE

Metallic leather is a delicate material which has been created by bonding a metallic foil with the underlying leather. As such, this is a surface finish and so with abrasion and wear, the metallic finish can wear away. This is normal wear and tear for this type of leather and is not considered a flaw. Once the metallic finish is removed, it cannot be reapplied or restored.

To remove surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. For any surface stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

PATENT LEATHER / CARE

Patent leather is constructed from a leather base, which is then finished with a mixture of acrylic and polyurethane on the external surface, giving you a longer lasting, durable finish.

To remove any surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Make sure that you dry the area thoroughly, to achieve a smear-free finish. With wear, the patent finish can reduce over time. For any surface stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

It’s also important not to place patent leather against another material or surface when it’s not in use, as it can absorb the dyes and surfaces of other objects if it’s left too long.

We recommend storing your accessory in the dust cover bag provided when it’s not in use.

PRINTED PONY / CARE

Printed pony is made from calf hair that has been bleached and then printed on the external surface, so it’s a little more delicate than most leathers. Over time, the pony will become shorter or loose in areas of repeated rubbing or friction. Should areas become bald, it is impossible to reverse the damage. To limit this, we advise that you always wear your accessory, so that the same side is in contact with your body.

To remove any surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and leave it to dry naturally. For any surface stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

SUEDE & NUBUCK / CARE

Suede and nubuck traditionally require a little more care and consideration, to extend the life of your accessory. The “nap” is commonly short for nubuck, and slightly longer for suede. It’s important that the nap is kept in good condition throughout its life. The best way to do this, is to regularly brush the nap with a soft suede brush, to remove any surface dirt and renew the nap. For any surface stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

Suede and nubuck are naturally dyed materials and cannot be entirely colourfast. Please be careful when wearing light coloured clothing, as suede and nubuck can easily transfer onto your clothes. At the same time, please be careful of wearing dark denim, as this can easily transfer onto the suede or nubuck.

Protective creams, waterproofing and moisturising agents should only be applied by professionals. Should you wish to use these, please contact your local leather care professional.

TOSCANA / CARE

All of our Toscana, (or long-haired lamb skin, as it’s commonly referred to), is sourced from Spain. Tonal variations and differing hair direction is a natural feature of this article, and each piece is completely unique. Over time the fur will become shorter, or loose in areas of repeated rubbing or friction.

To clean the fur, brush delicately in the same direction as the hair, to remove any loose surface dirt. You may also use a soft, damp cloth to remove any additional surface dirt, always working in the same direction as the hair. For any surface stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

We recommend storing your accessory in the dust cover bag provided when it’s not in use.

FABRIC / CARE

We select our fabrics based on their texture, durability and beauty. In most instances, our fabrics are quite durable, however please treat these fabrics with care, to avoid any unnecessary damage and to extend the life of your accessory.

To remove surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft cloth. To remove more common stains, we suggest that you use a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap, such as an ivory soap (if necessary). For any surface stains, please seek the advice of a dry-cleaning specialist or contact your local leather care professional. Do not attempt to remove stains with abrasive cleaners, as these products are known to damage the material. Never immerse these materials in water, as it can cause the lining to pucker, and cause damage to any leather trims that form part of your accessory.

JACQUARD / CARE

Jacquard is a slightly more delicate fabric than most, due to its intricate workmanship and combination of fibres. As such, it requires a little more care and consideration, to extend the life of your accessory.

To remove surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft cloth or soft horsehair brush. Alternatively, you can use a clean suede brush. Be sure to wipe in the same direction as the material, so as not to disturb the fibres and cause them to break.

NYLON & CANVAS / CARE

Our nylon and canvas materials are very tactile. In most cases they are water resistant, however they cannot be considered 100% waterproof. The external finish of these materials makes them very easy to maintain and clean.

To remove surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. You may also use a mild soap, such as an ivory soap (if necessary).

If the material becomes stained, please seek the advice of a dry-cleaning specialist or contact your local leather care professional. Do not attempt to remove stains with abrasive cleaners, as these products are known to damage the material. Never immerse these materials in water, as it can cause the lining to pucker, and cause damage to any leather trims that form part of your accessory.

PRINTED PVC / CARE

Our printed PVC is very tactile and water resistant, which makes it easy to clean. To remove surface dirt, lightly wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. You may also use a mild soap, such as an ivory soap (if necessary). Never immerse these materials in water, as it can cause the lining to pucker, and cause damage to any leather trims that form part of your accessory.

We recommend storing your accessory in the dust cover bag provided when it’s not in use.

RAFFIA & STRAW / CARE

Our raffia and straw collections are considered seasonal, and traditionally wear faster than other materials, due to their composition. Traditionally associated with the warmer months, we suggest that these products are used on a seasonal basis.

To remove any surface dirt or dust caught in the weave, we suggest applying a sheer nylon stocking to the nozzle of a vacuum, and gently vacuuming the surface. To remove stubborn surface dirt or minor stains, you can use a soft, damp cloth (using cold water), to spot clean the affected area. Wipe gently and in the direction of the weave. Do not attempt to wipe against the grain, as doing so may damage to the fibres. Air dry for the best result. For any severe stains, please seek the advice of your local leather care professional.

We recommend storing your accessory in the dust cover bag provided when it’s not in use. To best maintain the shape of the accessory, we suggest stuffing it with tissue paper.
